What is Kimbolton School like?

The senior school, founded over 400 years ago, is housed in 120 acres of castle grounds in the village of Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire.  It is a co-ed day and boarding school and has around 680 students.   Full, weekly, flexi and occasional boarding is possible.   There is a busy evening activity programme and Sunday excursions for boarders.  It is predominantly a day school with boarders making up 7% of  the student population; 45% of these are from overseas.

Ten years ago, a new Science and Maths Centre was constructed.  Kimbolton has ended Saturday school and has longer days Monday to Friday, using weekends for greater emphasis on sport and extracurricular activities.

Academically, Kimbolton performs well, and pupils leave with an excellent combination of academic qualifications and extracurricular experience and go on to an impressive range of universities.  Kimbolton is a Digital School with modern technology at the core of school life.

There are fantastic sports facilities, including AstroTurf pitches, tennis and netball courts, a 25m modern swimming pool, sports hall, and acres of playing fields.  Other outdoor activities include canoeing, sailing, climbing and equestrianism so there is plenty to choose from.

Music, Drama and Art are available through to A level – with plenty of opportunity to participate in plays, concerts and clubs.

Would Kimbolton be suitable for my child?

The school values each individual and provides a close family environment.

Kimbolton is a Christian school and there is a full time Chaplain who overseas services across the school.

This is a school where pupils are encouraged to reach their potential and are given opportunities in a caring, challenging environment.
